Bad Feelings { Closed}

It was almost eerie how the forest looked the same as it always did before Charlie attacked the camp, plaguing the minds of the forest folk we all held so dearly to our hearts.
Part of me wasn't sure why I liked to go on walks around the border of the forest. Another part of me knew it was because I liked to remember the good times I had in my first year with the Nymphs and Satyrs in this forest.
I walked with my hands in my pockets at my usual casual stride. I stared at the ground as I walked, watching my yellow timberland boots as they rotated places touching the ground in front of me.
Wind blew softly, as it usually did, ruffling my already scruffy looking brown hair for me. All was the same around camp, nothing too interesting as campers went about their daily business, that is, until the sounds of a scuffle reached my ears.

I quickened my pace and took my hands out of my pockets. As I jogged I got ready to turn the top right tuning peg of my violin to turn it into my bow and quiver.
When I reached the scene, I realized that arrows wouldn't do me much good in this situation.
In a circle of maybe 20 Satyrs, fought a tall, dark skinned boy covered in armor. I counted 7 satyrs that had been injured during the battle and now stayed away from the fight. I watched as one of the satyrs hit the boy with a boxing glove arrow. I cursed myself for not thinking to refill my quiver with different types of arrows sooner. I should have done it in the morning when I had had the chance but no, I had decided to sleep in instead. Nothing was going to happen, right? Nothing out of the ordinary? Wrong. Very wrong.
I quickly grabbed the neck of my violin and lifted it over my head. I then placed it on my shoulder neatly. I took the bow and gripped it in the correct finger positions.
I swept the white pegasus hair over the strings expertly, and sound started to play from the instrument. I started to focus on the satyrs. It was so much hard to focus on a group, but at least these forest creatures had the mental stability of, well, a mentally unstable person. They were much easier to hypnotize, seeing as they were all immediately responsive to the new source of sound. The satyr that was about to bring his sword down on the boy topped and stood still, gazing at my with square pupils in his eyes.
I imagined them walking into the forest, deep into the forest. They looked around at each other with confused expressions for a moment, as if they didn't know why they wanted to walk into the forest. I played a little faster to speed up the process, and the Satyrs turned their backs on the tired looking boy to disappear back into the border and far into the trees. I played at the same hypnotizing pace as they walked and made sure they were well over the horizon and couldn't hear me anymore before I stopped.
I dropped my violin to my side and rushed over to the guy who had nearly been Satyr dinner.
"Bro, are you okay?" I asked, kneeling down beside him. I lifted my violin back over my head and replaced it in its place draped diagonally down my back. I clipped the bow back in it's spot beside the instrument and waited for an answer.
I really hoped he hadn't broken anything. I hadn't brought any nectar or ambrosia with me this time. That was another thing I was meant to refill this morning but didn't.

I was slightly confused as to how he knew my name but I didn't know his. I shook the feeling off, deciding we probably had a mutual friend somewhere.
"Hey, Jonathan," I replied. "So, you're okay though? Like, no injuries? You can walk?" I started bombarding the poor guy with questions and decided that I should shut up, so I shut my mouth and stopped talking to give the guy some time to answer me.
I wondered what Jonathan had been doing out here. I mean, it's not like many campers came close the border. We didn't want to play up attention to it ever since Mr.D had figured out we had broken it. I, again, had half the mind to ask him. Man, I was annoyingly curious.
I pushed myself up from my spot and offered Jonathan my hand to help him up. Though, looking at him now, I wasn't so sure I'd be able to lift him. He was a lot taller than me, and looked like he weighed more.
Just hope you don't topple over him, I thought to myself.
I couldn't help but look around and over my shoulders. I wanted to get away from the border as quickly as possible before more insane forest creatures came along. I didn't think I had the energy to hold off a horde of 20 like that again. It had taken all of my concentration on them, and that could be hard to give sometimes when your mind wandered like a demigods did.

My heart dropped as I watched Jonathan fall to his knees. Panic rose in my chest as I dropped to my own and tried to keep him from closing his eyes on me. I tapped on his cheek lightly and repeatedly to try and help him stay conscious as I quickly spoke strings of words that I barely processed through my mind.
"Hey, hey, Bro, Dude, Buddy, Jonathan, you have to stay with me okay? We'll get you to the infirmary, but stay with me," My attempts obviously failed. His eyes slowly shut after a couple blinks, and his body relaxed soon after. I hovered my ear over his mouth and gripped his wrist with my pointer finger, middle finger and my thumb to try and find a pulse. I relaxed slightly as I heard him breath steady breaths, and felt his pulse move under his skin.
Now my only challenge was to get him to the infirmary where I could properly check him out.
"Alright, bud," I said with a grunt as I took both Jonathans arms and pulled to hoist him up. The fact that he was not helping me at all and I had no one else to aid me only made this so much harder. I crouched as I got him on his knees, and wrapped his one arm around my shoulders, wrapping my other arm around his waist to steady him.
I clenched my jaw, and shut my eyes tight as I tried to hoist myself up without losing my balance. No luck. I toppled over, landing on my butt and managed to keep Jonathan from hitting the back of his head. He probably had a concussion. He had said
his head hurt so why hadn't I checked for that?
"Alright, Fletch, one more time," I told myself with determination in my tone. I managed to pull myself up in a crouching position again, and with all of the strength in my legs and upper body I hoisted Jonathan up so that he was standing limply beside me, his head hanging over his chest.
"I did it!" I shouted in amazement of myself. I looked around, now I had to get him to the infirmary. It was a good thing he had managed to make it half way there.
I paced myself so that I wouldn't fall face first into the ground. I took one step forward, and when I was ready, took another step, dragging Jonathan along with me. I cursed profusely in Greek as I walked. Carrying dead weight that was taller and bigger than you was an incredibly hard task.
"Come on, Fletch, you're a demigod," I said to myself. "Nothing a son of Apollo can't handle, right? You do archery, you're pretty strong. No biggy." I pep talked myself as I continued my slow, but hurried walk to the Big House. The blue building looked so promising, almost like it was a mirage and I was walking stranded in a desert.
By the time I reached the doors, I was sweating buckets. My shirt clung to my body grossly. I made my way up the porch, using the railing as something to lean on so I didn't fall. I kicked at the door and prayed to all of the Gods that it wouldn't be Mr. D that answered.
The door swung open, and I almost cried in happiness as I saw the white stallion body of my favourite centaur Chiron standing in the doorway.
"Mr. Kealoha?" Chiron inquired.
"Help," I said, out of breath and steam. I helped Chiron lift the passed out Jonathan onto his back, and the centaur carried him into the infirmary, where I scrambled around collecting first aid supplies like nectar, ambrosia and stuff I could use to check if he had a concussion when he woke up.
Chiron backed up and let me have some space after placing Jonathan on a vacant bed. I measured out a healthy amount of Nectar and began to slowly drip it down Jonathan's throat like I had seen my sister Roxy do to other passed out patients many times. I massaged his throat as I did so that he wouldn't choke on it. Once I was finished with that, all I had to do was wait for him to wake up. I had no idea how long that would be.
"Mind telling me how this happened. Mr. Kealoha?" Chiron asked, his arms crossed over his Party Ponies T-shirt. I took a deep breath in and tried to figure out how I would tell the camp director how this went down.

It was my fifth day in the infirmary, watching over Jonathan as he slept. Usually I would let a more medicinally practiced sibling watch over him, but I was alone in the infirmary with nothing to do and no one to talk to, watching a son of Ares sleep soundly. I had talked to a few people and asked questions about him. They had told me he was a son of Ares, and that he had been here year-round for 2 years. Like me. Other than that, not many people knew much about him. He seemed to keep a low profile usually. I could respect that. That's what I had done in my first year as well.
I leaned on another vacant bed beside the one Jonathan slept in. My arms were crossed over my chest as I tapped my fingers on my elbows to the beat of the song that was stuck in my head. Run and Go by Twenty One Pilots. As I did, I watched the steady rise and fall of Jonathans chest as he breathed. I wondered what he was dreaming about, and there were times like these where I wished I had a Hypnos camper around to tell me.
Suddenly, his breathing got a lot faster, and he actually started talking. Well, at least I thought he was. I had to push myself off the bed and bring my ear closer to his mouth to actually catch what he was saying.
"Where am I? Am I alive?"
His eyes were shut, and he didn't move anything but his mouth.
"Hey, yeah, you're alive thank the gods," I replied to him. "Take it slow, man. Don't rush yourself." I had given the poor guy tons of Nectar while he was out. Not enough to explode him or anything like that, no, but enough that I thought would have gotten him out of this state. I guess I had been wrong.
I stood hunched over his bed, waiting to see what would happen next.

I listened as he told me I needed to get Chiron, that he had something really important to tell him.
"Okay," I said, "Stay there." I then realized he couldn't do anything but stay there and scrunched my face in frustration at my stupidity. "...You know what I mean," I added. I hurried out of the infirmary, and into the Big House, where you could usually find the Centaur or Dionysus, but I definitely didn't want to see him.
"Chiron?" I called out as I realized the room was empty.
"He's not here, Fergason," Replied an annoyed sounding Dionysus.
"Really?" I muttered under my breath in annoyance. "Where is he?" I called again, not knowing exactly where Mr.D was.
"Why should I tell you?" He countered.
"It's important," I replied.
"Oh yeah? Like, cute puppy important, or someones dying important?" Mr.D questioned in a tone that told me he really didn't care, he just wanted to give me a hard time. Gods damn this God.
"Jonathan is awake and asking for him," I said.
"Oh perfect, another one of you brats conscious. I was just starting to get used to one less demigod to keep an eye on." He said in a voice that oozed sarcasm. Like you even keep an eye on us, I thought to myself.
"Look, tell me where he is? Please?" I called. Dionysus let out a deep sigh, and I could practically feel the roll of his purple eyes.
"Archery range teaching some half wits how to shoot a bow," he answered. I turned to rush out the door and sprint towards the archery range to get Chiron. "You're welcome!" Called Mr.D after me.
"Yeah!" I called out, opening the door and disappearing out into the hot sunny day. I skipped down the steps of the blue porch and nearly fell as I started speeding towards the range.

When I finally got there, I sure enough spotted Chiron. He was hard to miss, being half horse, half human. He was teaching the Hecate cabin how to shoot bows.
"Chiron!" I yelled. He turned his head to me, letting a Hecate camper use some good old magic to get the arrow in the middle while he wasn't looking.
"Yes, Fletch?" He answered, walking towards me with a concerned look on his face. I slouched over, propping myself up with my arm on my knee and taking heavy breaths with another arm wrapped around my stomach as I tried to catch my breath.
"Jonathan... He's awake.... He.... Wants to tell you something important." Chiron kept a straight face and turned to his class.
"Continue the exercises while I'm gone. No magic." Chiron allowed me to get up on his back, I guess deciding it would be quicker that way. He ran over to the Big House, which took a lot less longer than it had when I had been running on two feet. I slipped off his back as he stopped and followed him up the porch. He opened the door and I entered in first. I lead him into the infirmary and took my spot beside Jonathans bed once again. I hoped he hadn't started sleeping again.
"Hey, buddy, sorry that took so long. He's here now," I said.
"What did you need to tell me, Mr. Wingate?" Chiron questioned with a serious expression plastered on his face.

Aw man, not the Archery Range, I found myself thinking as the camper burst in the door to tell Chiron of the accident caused by the Hecate Cabin. I watched Chiron leave, before turning in a response to Jonathan thanking me. I rested my gaze on his brown eyes and brought one corner of my mouth up in a smirk. I couldn't help but bring my hand up to the back of my neck as I did.
"Hey man, no problem," I answered. "That dream... It sounds horrible," I said afterwards. Demigod dreams were always something to take seriously. Especially dreams like the one Jonathan just described to both Chiron and I. I still couldn't help but wonder why Chiron wanted it to be a secret so much... I guess because if we went around telling everyone about this dream Camp would go into some sort of uproar that none of us needed to deal with at the moment.
I pulled myself out of my thoughts with a short shake of my head, and I brought my gaze back to meet Jonathan's eyes. I dropped my hand to my side once again, and brought my other over my chest to clutch it above the elbow.
"But... You're okay, right? No more five day coma's?" I managed a grin to slide across my features, wanting to lighten the mood from camp destruction and mothers dissolving into pools of blood. "It gets boring in here without anyone to talk to, y'know."

I couldn't help but let my jaw hit the floor as Jonathan held out his backpack- er, golden armor. My hand immediately gripped the strap of my violin case. I couldn't imagine ever giving it to anyone else, even for a little while. Maybe if it was someone I trusted, someone I knew would take as much care of it as I did. I couldn't believe that Jonathan must have trusted me enough to put it in my possession. I didn't know many Ares kids that would trust someone like me, Fletch Kealoha, accident-prone supreme and child of Apollo.
Not wanting to stand there like the stunned idiot I was, I extended my hand to grip the backpack named Blood Guardian.
"Dude... Are you sure?" I asked. My eyes held wide, my mouth still open a crack after I spoke. As I brought the item closer to me I let a grin slip onto my face. "I mean, I was told to stay in here and keep an eye on you until you got better... But I'll make sure to keep it safe when I'm out."
I swung the backpack over the shoulder that wasn't obstructed by my violin case. It almost felt like I was going to school. At that thought I shuddered. I hadn't been to school in two years, and trust me, I didn't want to go back.
"So," I inquired, keeping my grin plastered on my face. "How does it look?"
